The currently untitled sequel to Star Trek: Into Darkness has yet to hit theaters and it’s already set to have a fourth film. Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk, and Zachary Quinto, who portrays Spock, have renegotiated their contracts and are signed on for a fourth film addition to the hit J.J. Abrams helmed franchise. Having Pine and Quinto on board for yet another film is quite the exciting news considering Kirk and Spock are the heart of not just the television series, but the rebooted films as well.
The third Star Trek film is set to hit theaters in 2016 and if it makes as much money as its predecessors did, Star Trek made a total of $385.7 million whereas Star Trek: Into Darkness grossed $467 million, then hopefully that will make way for a fifth and sixth film as well but in this case only time will tell.
