Most actors scour over scripts and accept roles based on the character and the significance that the picture my play in their life. Then there is Parks & Recreations star Chris Pratt who accepted the role of Star-Lord in the upcoming Marvel flick Guardians of the Galaxy without even seeing a script. So what lead to his decision to say yes? Well the fact that Marvel was involved was reason enough. In his defense Marvel kept the script under wraps so it’s not like he had to access to read it before he signed on. But once he did gets his hands on a copy he was happy with his choice. Speaking with Fandango Pratt revealed what he loved about Star-Lord. "Granted, once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he's very much a kid at heart. He's like a man-child.And I like the idea that he's got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he's lonely and desperate. But on the outside he walks around like he's big and tough, and I don't think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he's not just a scared little child.” Guardians come equipped with an all-star cast including actors Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillian, Benicio Del Toro, John C Reilly and Glenn Close. The film revolves around Pratt’s character Star-Lord who joins forces with an unlikely cast of characters to defeat a huge cosmic threat. Guardians of the Galaxy is set to hit theaters August 1, 2014. You can catch Chris Pratt in Delivery Man in theaters now!
