Chris Wood Joins Supergirl As A Surprise DC Character

CW actor Chris Wood is set to join the cast of Supergirl in it’s upcoming second season; however, it is unknown what role he will be playing. Weigh in here!

CW mainstay Chris Wood has joined the cast of the network’s recently acquired DC TV series Supergirl…

The actor who is well known for his turn as the villainous Kai in the Vampire Diaries and for his lead role as Jake Riley in the mini-series Containment will be playing a surprise DC character. There is no word whether he will be an ally or an antagonist to Supergirl once the show debuts, but his recent work does show that he can do play both sides well.

He will be a series regular and will be making his debut early in the upcoming second season. Because of the mystery that shrouds his casting there is already a lot speculation regarding who he will be playing. One major theory is that he may be playing Hal Jordan also known as Green Lantern, who is one of the founding members of the Justice League alongside the Flash who already has his own series on the CW and the Martian who already made his debut in Supergirl.

Tyler Hoechlin has already been announced to guest star in Supergirl‘s upcoming season starring as the main heroine’s cousin Superman. The DC television universe being built by the network may very well be able to assemble the iconic superhero team long before they debut in cinemas.

The Flarrowverse, as it is called by fans already spans four television shows, namely; Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tommorow , and Supergirl which was moved from CBS to CW. One can also count canceled supernatural series, Constantine since it’s title character made an appearance in Arrow.

It is also speculated that Chris may be playing Superboy or the sorcerer Dr. Fate, whose helmet made an appearance in Constantine. Of course there may be a chance that he may be playing an important but non-superpowered individual. We’ll just have to wait and see.
