Christian Lopez Unveils The Video For “I Don’t Mind”

“It’s a song about making something beautiful out of life while also having the power to let go of it.”

Inspired by the likes of Tom Waits and Johnny Cash among others, Christian Lopez has already earned himself acclaim – Rolling Stone referred to him as someone who “can connect the dots for many young listeners..” – and a growing following thanks to albums Onward and Red Arrow, and 2021 is shaping up to be his best and strongest year to date with the release of his first independent collection – the third full-length album titled The Other Side on March 5.

Having recorded the album in December 2019, and with the Corona Virus pandemic resulting in the world, and the music industry, all but grinding to a halt, with any plans for live shows having to be scrapped, Christian released five songs from his new album last year, together with creative videos from directors Nicholas Jandora and Steve Jawn. Now, with a new year having just begun, he’s offering up another sample of what fans can expect from the collection with new single “I Don’t Mind”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere.

“I Don’t Mind” is currently featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist in four countries – USA, Iceland, Sweden and Egypt – and Christian says of the song: “I Don’t Mind” was written in a psychedelic haze in Johnny Depp’s personal studio in Hollywood, CA. – Billy Rassel, my producer is a nephew. It’s about the pursuit of peace in every moment no matter what life throws at you. It’s a song about making something beautiful out of life while also having the power to let go of it. For me, it was about letting go of mental blocks and fears that I discovered in myself as I grew older, and in order to make leaps forward I knew I’d have to overcome.”
