While many bands can say they have an array of influences that inspire the music they make, Circle The Earth can say they do so on a much grander scale, notably due to the fact that the band hail from multiple regions of the world and are made up of several different ethnicities – both of which allows each member to contribute something truly unique to the sound of the group. Over the course of their time together, they’ve opened for some huge artists including Macy Gray, Smokey Robinson and Wyclef Jean and wowed the crowds at venues such as The Rose Bowl and at the Sunset Strip Music Festival.
Their new single “Could Be You”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, was written by producer/song-writer Jaylien Wesley and band members Kladia Handon and Sandy Chao Weng, and is an instantly likeable, energetic track encouraging those that hear it to mix things up a bit in their life – to shake off the old, typical routines and do something a little unexpected. As for the inspiration behind the song, that came after lead vocalist Khadia had a rather memorable night out while she was living in Cuernavaca, Mexico. “Normally, I tend to worry that if I let loose too much, something bad or unsafe can happen, so I try to play life more on the safe side,” she says. “However, this night, I buried that person inside and let the riskier side of me come out to play.” Ultimately, “Could Be You” is a call for all everyone to make the most out of life; to seize the day – or night – and is at its heart, an authentic, feel good song.
