As you already know (and if not, now you will), Cote de Pablo will leave NCIS on its 11th season after playing Ziva David for eight years.
Her co-star Michael Weatherly says the show will be fine after her departure: “We have great writers and a remarkable core DNA that (creator Donald) Bellisario created” Weatherly told TVLine, “and somehow it’s so sturdy that it withstands all of these changes.”
When asked about Ziva’s good-bye, Weatherly said “I can’t give away all the pinpoints, but I found the first two episodes immensely satisfying. I was very surprised by the things I read in those scripts.”
The only hint Weatherly gave was about a possible “closure” between their characters romance:
"I think that for DiNozzo and for me as an actor, that ‘holding pattern’ has been incredibly fun to play — I love working with Cote, she’s awesome — but also it’s been eight years, and we haven’t dealt with it. It will be dealt with”.
Cote de Pablo recently told Latina that leaving the series was “not an easy decision, not one taken lightly”.
"I feel like I am leaving my family. What I want to say most of all is thank you to the fans and to the people who have been so supportive of me and of the show, who have made the show the great success it is."
Don’t miss NCIS 11th season starting on September 24th on CBS!
