Deadline have reported that casting is underway for the upcoming film Warcraft, the big screen adaptation of the hugely popular video game, World of Warcraft. Colin Farrell (Alexander) has reportedly been offered a lead role in the film, with Paula Patton (Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol) negotiating for the female lead. Sources from within Deadline are saying that there’s a 50/50 chance Colin will accept the offer “I’m not sure that Farrell is going to make a deal, and Jones is testing other actors for the major roles.” Jones, as in Duncan Jones, is the filmmaker behind the new project and is the man responsible for such films as Source Code and Moon. Duncan is also the son of rocker David Bowie and his first wife Angela. Charles Leavitt is penning the script and production is set to begin in January 2014, which means that final casting information should come to light at some time in the near future. Apparently the film will centre on an individual named Khadgar a “young consul to the Kirin Tor senate, rulers of the city of Dalaran who is charged with investigating a series of crimes that have rocked the city, but as we go on, we’ll find that his mission leads him into a quest beyond the city walls” What do you think? Are you happy with this possible casting decision? Do you even think World of Warcraft should be made into a movie? Let us know your thoughts.
