Colm Feore Joins Cast Of Political Drama ‘House Of Cards’

Colm Feore has joined Netflix’s hit political drama House of Cards.

Feore will be a recurring star and will take on a high profile role amidst the interplay of power for which the show is famous.

The actor is no stranger to political dramas where his character has to contend with other powerful men. He is noted for playing Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in the highly acclaimed television mini-series, Trudeau. He also portrayed Cardinal De La Rovere, the arch rival of Jeremy Iron’s Pope Alexander VI, in the hit television series, The Borgias.

House of Cards is based on the British television drama of the same name. It tells the story of Frank Underwood, played to great effect by Kevin Spacey, a Southern congressman who rises to become President of the United States through subtle manipulation, devious tactics, and the support of his equally talented wife, Claire, played by Robin Wright.

As of last season, the power couple has separated and are at odds, which leaves a vulnerability in Underwood’s grasp on power. It is not yet known whether Feore will come in as an ally or rival to Underwood, but, then again, such things are never so clear cut in House of Cards.
