Two of the biggest pop stars in the world teamed up to make a super hot video for their single –but is it too hot? According to CNN, Colombian politician, Marco Fidel Ramirez, is trying to ban Shakira and Rihanna’s “Can’t Remember to Forget You” video from the airwaves. The video features Shakira shaking her hips and the two stars getting cozy with barely any clothes on. The two are also seen smoking cigars, which Ramirez states “is promoting tobacco usage” and even goes on to say that Shakira, Colombia’s very own, “has become the worst example” for the country’s youth. The video “does not reflect the views of most Colombians,” states Ramirez, who also believes the pop star should not be using sex to sell records. Ramirez has taken to social media platforms to try to bring awareness to his campaign, which includes asking Shakira to take down the video from the Internet due to its promotion of “immoral” values such as tobacco usage and lesbianism. He believes this promotion of “disgusting” behaviors will lead people to engage in such activities. Many have accused Ramirez of censorship, but others have supported his cause. Shakira has yet to respond to the politician’s remarks.
What do you think? Is Ramirez overreacting or does he make a valid argument? Keep Up With PopWrapped On The Web!
