Attention all Hunger Games aficionados: if you’ll be in San Diego next month, listen up! If you won’t be….well, you might want to get yourself there! The California city will be host to what promises to be one very exciting event in anticipation of the second installment in the popular Hunger Games film series.
A picture posted on their official Instagram page this week announced that Comic-Con 2013, planned for July 20th, will heavily feature Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which is set for a November release.
As is usually the case for such exciting events, a variety of perks will be available for fans, such as the debut of a new trailer for the sequel and never-before-seen footage. However, perhaps the highlight of the event will be the appearance of a panel of stars of the film who will most likely participate in a Q and A session as well.
Although not officially confirmed as of yet, rumor has it that Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth will be in attendance on the panel.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will not be the only celebratory highlight of the convention. Lionsgate has also announced that I, Frankenstein, the highly anticipated January 2014 film adaptation of Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel, starringAaron Eckhart will stand side by side with the Hunger Games sequel as the two premier attractions of the event. Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski and Bill Nighy will also reportedly take part in the talent panel.
If you can’t make it to the land of sunshine for this wonderful event, no worries! Simply fire up that iPad or Blackberry and tweet your questions to the stars using the hashtag #CatchingFireComicCon.
I have a feeling though, that many will be flocking to San Diego this July….and not only because Ron Burgundy lives there!
