It was suppose to be one of the biggest comebacks of 2013!
Keith Giffen, JM DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire, the creative team of the late 1980s Justice League, would be reuniting on Justice League 3000.
It all started with a statement from Maguire on Twitter: “Anyone have any comics they need drawn?” Which hinted that he was kicked off Justice League 3000.
Then, Newsarama released a story that announced that Howard Porter would replace Maguire on the interiors.
“The guy who nailed the character designs on the interior of the book? The guy who teamed with Grant Morrison to make JLA a hit? This is what they call a no-brainer,” said Justice League 3000 co-creator Keith Giffen in a statement to Newsarama. “Welcome aboard Howard. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful collaboration.”
After the announcement was made, Maguire returned to Twitter with: “Well, that’s…humiliating….”
Do not worry fans! You will be able to get your Maguire fix soon as Bleeding Cool confirmed that Marvel creator Brian Michael Bendis announced that Maguire will provide the art for the tenth issue of Guardians of the Galaxy!
