It seems like Texas is the place to be these days if you are a late night talk show host.  Jimmy Kimmel spent a week in Austin a few weeks back at South by Southwest shooting his show, and now Conan O’Brien is joining the rodeo by filming live for a week in Dallas.

As Conan is preparing to put his saddle away and return to New York, he invited the one person in Texas that might be more loved and more “Texan” than a big slab of beef: Dallas Maverick Dirk Nowitzki.

Nowitzki was there to administer the “Just-Invented Texas Citizenship Test” to Conan, who claimed he was an “expert” on all things Texas.

The quiz began normally, with Conan answering questions correctly, such as “What is the state nickname of Texas” with “The Lone Star State.”  But in typical Conan fashion, he didn’t stay serious for long. Eventually questions like “What is the state bird of Texas?” and “What is the state flower of Texas?” were answered with “Beef.”

Amazingly, somehow Conan did not manage to completely fail this test.  While he recently stole Dallas’ hearts, I’m sure New York can’t wait to get him back.
