Law and Order: SVU actress Connie Nielsen has been added to the cast of The Following for the long-awaited season two, according to TVLine.
Her character is Lisa Grey, who is going to be a season regular, and is described as being “a Soho art dealer who finds herself in a bit of trouble. When Ryan Hardy comes to her aid, connection begins to form which causes even more problems for her.”
The show follows FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), who is trying to catch Joe Carroll, played by James Purefoy, and his murderous cult.
It was confirmed, last week, that Sam Underwood (Dexter) would join the cast as a “dark and complex young man who may be one of the ’late’ Joe Carroll’s followers.”
Bacon recently hinted that season two will “jump ahead in time” from the first season finale, which saw Ryan and Claire (Nathalie Zea) brutally stabbed.
Nielsen will, next, be seen in Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac and also in McG’s Three Days of Kill alongside Kevin Costner.
Season two of The Following will air on Fox in the US and on Sky Atlantic in the UK during 2014.
