It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that in the era of social media, we’ve adopted several new and different types of addictions—all related to how easily we can access information, share it, and interact with one another. Plus, the internet is sometimes the perfect relief to boredom.
A YouTube channel known as ASAPScience has created a video with some surprising statistics about how much we’re really affected by constantly plugging into social media. In fact, our brains are actually adapting to these habits… and not always in a good way.
In fact, some of it makes me want to purposely unplug for awhile. Although, with how much we depend on it, not just personally but with school and work as well, is that a realistic attempt?
