fans, did you miss you very own demon slayer? Well, the show is back this week with another episode full of new adventures, titled "The Devil's Vinyl".
This week's episode finds a lady in Chicago, Illinois, getting into an old house where rituals involving animals used to take place and finding a record inside a hidden copy of the Bible. It turns out there is some kind of evil involved with the music on it and when she gives it to a friend of hers for some analysis, he ends up dead after listening to it.
Back in Atlanta, Zed manages to find John Constantine and Chas over at the safe house, seeing the former inside a white circle and covered in blood, as he's learning a spell naked. Even though she joins the hellblazer in looking into his friend's death in Chicago, he reveals that he's skeptical about her intentions.
Once they arrive at the location, they go see the body of the dead man. Reviving all the bodies in the place with a spell, they get some words from him about where to look. The lady who found the record in the first place is seen saving it at her house among others though, but it seems to be icing the whole furniture.
Following the clues, our duo find a pal who can shed some light on the acetate's history. He reveals it was recorded by a singer who sold his soul to the devil and there's something recorded by the Deceiver on there. After he tells all about someone interested to buy the acetate, he's taken away by our well-known angel.
As John explains some stuff to Zed on their way, we're taken where the lady with the record lives and see her daughter picking it up. When the two find the lady herself, Jasmine Fell, she reveals that her sould is sold as well to save her husband's life, but there's a price to pay for that. Trying to break that contract, she went looking for the acetate and was supposed to deliver it at some soul breaker that night, but Mr. Constantine takes on from there.
At Fell's house, the daughter has put that record on but they manage to save her soon enough. Constantine gets to meet that Anton guy, the soul breaker, and it turns out another one called Papa Midnite, a voodoo priest, is looking to mock Fell and take the acetate, in return for Jasmine's soul. Soon enough, the demon slayer ends up tied down and that Midnite reveals he wants the record so as not to end up in hell, leaving John to slowly die in the middle of nowhere.
The priest's men violently get the acetate from the family, but they end up spelled by its devilish, freezing effect. The angel pays John a visit to discuss the situation and how he could save the day, and just a bit later Zed jumps in to save him from that death. Unfortunately, they're a bit late and the men with the record already played it at a club, causing massive tragedy.
Chas arrives to bring John his tools and let him know Zed can't be found in any law enforcement database. She's being helpful though, finding a deaf worker of the club who wasn't affected by the sound. The team finds out the men with the acetate no longer follow rules but want to play it on a radio station for the whole world to hear. They quickly get to the place and Constantine goes inside to face the drama, wearing a pair of headphones.
What happens when these go off? You'll have to watch the episode to find out how things turned out and what followed the situation. If anything is for sure, it's that John Constantine is up for a whole different treat next week!
