The former Glee star Lea Michele took to Instagram earlier this week to share a heartwarming picture of her and on- and off-screen boyfriend Cory Monteith from 2012. Cory tragically passed away in July of 2013 while still dating Michele. His death hit Glee fans and the cast members of the show exceptionally hard. And it seems that Lea still has a soft spot there for her former flame. ...
Actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Farley, and Philip Seymour Hoffman were known for more than their charm and chops. The men possessed everything from fame to fortune. While beautiful women and Oscar nods surrounded them, their personal lives were a poor parallel to the gilded screen. Heroin addiction plagued their entire beings, and, unlike the Midas touch, it robbed them blind. Both Farley and Hoffman died from an overdose. During their final hours, they indulged in a stimulant/depressant concoction. The celebrities were different yet similar: the men struggled with weight, self-image, and illness. Hoffman relapsed after decades of sobriety, and Farley was a familiar face am...
Ryan Murphy, love him or hate him, is a creative genius. His career is on fire now, especially after the tremendous success of multiple Emmy-award winner The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Murphy, however, started writing, producing and directing many years before this or his other hit shows American Horror Story and Nip/Tuck. His first show, Popular, which aired 17 years ago, is seen as a cult TV series. The quirky show, set in high school, took on issues like popularity (or lack thereof), sexuality and eating disorders. Sounds familiar? Many say Murphy’s Popular was the blueprint of what would be a breakout smash, ...
Ahead of tomorrow night's Primetime Emmy Awards, we decided to relive (and rank!) some of our favorite opening numbers and monologues from the past few years. Read on to find out our favorite, and let us know which one was yours! 9. Jimmy Kimmel, 2012: We loved seeing all the ladies getting ready for Emmy night, and Kathy Bates being a badass was the highlight of the opening. However, it wasn't particularly funny or smart, and the "let's all punch Jimmy Kimmel" skit got old fast. Best bit: Naked Lena Dunham eating cake on a toilet. Kathy Bates kicking ass. ...
The Glee feels are hitting hard after seeing star Lea Michele's naked body on the cover of Women's Health. Because on her butt, right where the top of any bikini would sit, in tiny cute letters is one word: Finn. Yes, in honor of her late co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith's character on Glee, Lea Michele got another tattoo. It's not known when she had it done, but take a look at the cover of Women's Health UK that Lea tweeted: ...
Two years on from his tragic death, Lea Michele, the former girlfriend and co-star of Cory Monteith, took to Twitter yesterday to share a poignant message with her fans, dedicated to the actor who had played Glee's Finn Hudson since 2009. https://twitter.com/msleamichele/status/620593668928352256/photo/1 Fans took to social media to remember the actor and the hashtag #2YearsWithoutCory on Twitter trended worldwide. It seemed like a touching tribute felt around the world from fans and friends. 31-year-old Monteith, who had battled with substance abuse in the past, died of...
Oh, my fellow Gleeks, get ready to be punched right in the feels. As many of you know, the last season of Glee officially wrapped filming over the weekend and the cast and crew were sure to share their final moments with us over Twitter and Instagram. On Tuesday, December 16th, Amber Riley performed to a sold out crowd at The El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, CA. I had a hell of a time, let me tell you. Ms. Riley opened with "What Christmas Means To Me" and followed with a ton of great Christmas songs, but also included some of her favorite covers. Amber was so incredibly into the show and it showed in some places where you could see her and the person she was performing with stop to giggle or laugh. Endearing, to say the least. She had a jam-packed list of special guest which included B. Slade, Jordin Sparks, Kierra Sheard, Tori Kelly, Alex Newell, Shoshana Bean and Faith Evans. Her friends were in attendance as well, from Glee...
As Gleeks prepare for the final season at with their favorite glee club, Mark Salling, aka McKinley's favorite former bad boy Noah "Puck" Puckerman, is ready to return to a final full time role on Glee. In the most recent Hollywood scandal, a Brazilian news website claims Glee star Cory Monteith is the subject of a gay sex tape that has leaked online. The recording has invaded the interwebs, Tumblr and other online sites and is sparking new debate into the tragic death of the young actor. Cory Monteith, who was found dead in his hotel room of a drug overdose, is claimed to be having bareback sex with another guy in the video that was released by XPRIDE.com. We will not be posting this video to our site, however it can be viewed ...
I'm still not sure how I feel about all of this. After spending two seasons with most of the characters in New York City, Glee will return to the halls of McKinley for the final season--including Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). The major plot for the Fox show's 6th and final season is that Rachel returns to Lima after being humiliated while pursuing becoming an actress in Hollywood. She discovers that Sue (Jane Lynch) had the Glee club demolished, and is determined to bring New Directions BACK..... With herself running it!! It's also bee...
Kate McHaleSenior Staff Writer@KateMcHale42 Many people were devastated by the sudden passing of Cory Monteith a little over a year ago, no one more than his mother Ann McGregor. A little over a year since Cory’s passing, Ann decided to break her silence and speak to ABC News’ Bianna Golodryga in a very heartfelt interview. A...
Laura Barnett Staff Writer It's been a year and a day since the passing of Glee's Cory Monteith, who left this world due to a lethal overdose of heroin and alcohol. The star had battled substance abuse since his early teenage years and entered rehab for the first time at the age of 19. Despite entering rehab once again in March 2013, Cory unfortunately succumbed to his addictions in downtown Vancouver on July 13, 2013 and was found alone in his hotel room the morning after. His father, Joe Monteith, has been very vocal...
Shelby Parker Staff Writer @ShelbyN92 I’d say Cory Monteith had the right idea. But, not only did he say it… he lived it. All of his fans, family and friends are still keeping his legacy alive. When Monteith passed away suddenly last July, not only were the media and fans buzzing about it, but people who had never watched an episode of Glee in their life were suddenly paying attention to him and wondering what would happen to the future of the show. The thing about Cory is, he had a lot of life in his short time on earth. Sure, he had his demons that he battled, but he didn’t let that control his li...
Laura Barnett Staff Writer You know how once in a blue moon you’ll meet someone and they make you feel welcome? Accepted, liked and listened to? Complete strangers don’t tend to do that during an initial conversation, but Cory Monteith did. I was lucky to meet Cory several times in both fan and press settings. A lot of celebrities act nice to the press because they’re working and it’s a part of their job. It’s not genuine and it’s sometimes very apparent. Some celebrities aren’t always nice to fans either. Fans can be needy, loud and overly excited. Some would rather just wave, smile and continue on their way, but not Cory...
Christa Tintelnot Staff Writer @christamarie123 I know, I am the official Glee recapper for PopWrapped, but I have a secret...I didn't start watching Glee until "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" aired following the Super Bowl. I knew about the hype surrounding the show, of course, but most people got on the Glee bandwagon way before me. As the episode first started airing, I didn't pay too much attention to it. After all, I had never seen this show, nor really had much of a desire to watch it. That is, ...
Shane Avery Senior Staff Writer @ShaneAvery I can't even begin to imagine how hard this must be for her. Fans all over the world, as well as co-stars, are mourning the loss of Cory Monteith all over again today, as it marks the 1 year anniversary of the Glee stars death. While many have been posting loving tributes to Cory, I'm guessing everyone was waiting to see what Lea Michele would write. And now we know. Lea took to her social media and said https://twitter.com/msleamichele/status/488382317979652097 She's right. We'll miss you always Cory. RIP ...
Rain Varela Staff Writer @Rain_Varela To the world, Cory Monteith is Finn Hudson. It is the role that catapulted him to stardom and it is his legacy to the world of television. We honor him and love him for this, but let us remember too that Cory is more than just his iconic role. At the time of his tragic end, he was already stretching his wings, taking on roles that were darker than the one which he is known for. Two movies were completed and released after his last ever episode on Glee. The first one was ...
Dani Strehle Senior Manager @Dvstrehle I remember when I first started watching Glee. My mom told me about this show that revolved around the antics of a crew of outcast teens who were members of a glee club. She told me she knew it was something I would like and highly recommended that I watch. And watch I did. The show took a little while to find its footing. And honestly, at first, I wasn't sold. But after rewatching the pilot and following episodes a few times, I was hooked. It was mostly due to Sue Sylvester's sass that I become a Gleek. But then there was this scene where the main teacher and gl...

Abbie SedgemanStaff Writer@the_sedgetable With the anniversary of Cory Monteith’s death approaching, we wanted to dedicate this week to some of our favorite Cory/Finn moments. I wanted to take a moment to honor Cory with my personal favorite Finn dance routines. I love watching Cory dance, because he knew from the beginning he...
Carleen Slon Staff Writer @Carleen1991 “The show must go all over the place or something.” The death of Glee’s Cory Monteith back in 2013 took everyone for a whirlwind. When news broke about his death, loads of fans were heartbroken about the loss of their idol. Cory’s portrayal of Finn Hudson has captured the hearts of everyone and will be remembered forever. Gleeks have expressed that Cory has and will always have a special place in their hearts. Here is what four Gleeks have to say about what Cory Monteith has meant to them: Glee first came on when I was in the fi...
Tarra Matthews Senior Content Manager @tlcm_16 When I think of Cory Monteith a few key words come to mind: Actor, musician, Canadian and, most importantly, kind-hearted. The Canadian star was known for supporting charities that gave opportunities to children wanting to pursue the arts, including Young Storytellers and Project Limelight. Cory was also known for his friendship with and support of Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group of companies that includes the non-profit group Virgin Unite that advocates...
Dani Strehle Senior Manager @Dvstrehle A few months back, PopWrapped brought you what we dubbed "Gleekuary:March To The 100th Episode." It was a full-on Gleek fest that we enjoyed immensely; and we think you did, too. This tribute is a far more somber one than Gleekuary, but PopWrapped staffers have requested that we do something similar for the impending anniversary of Cory Monteith's heartbreaking death. Last July 13, the entertainment world, and the Glee fandom in particular, was turned upside down by the news of the bright young star's overdose. And while we are perfectly aware...
Kate McHale Senior Staff Writer @KateMcHale42 The hit TV show Glee and its community was rocked with tragedy a year ago when Cory Monteith tragically passed away. Instead of focusing on how he died, PopWrapped has decided to honor him by posting stories written by our staff that reminisces about why so many people loved Cory. We want to honor what a great and talented person he was, and should forever be remembered for. So please sit back and enjoy what we loved about Cory. This countdown is his top songs/ performances on Glee. Usually we do a top 5, but let’s be honest here. that almost would...
