It goes without saying, that we all sincerely miss the 6ft 4’ Canadian who made it to fame by playing Finn Hudson in the FOX hit-musical, Glee.
Sadly, as you know, Cory Monteith passed away in July. Despite the fact he didn’t film anymore Glee before his death, as production for the fifth series was scheduled for late July; there is still some of Cory’s acting that we haven’t yet seen.
McCanick, a film Cory had worked on last year (which unfortunately also turned out to be his last film) showcased Monteith’s acting talents outside of Glee, whilst reflecting on and using his past to bring something different and real to the role.
In the film, Monteith plays Simon Weeks, a paranoid, young drug-addict who turns to violence, lending him a spell in prison for his crimes. Narcotics detective Eugene ‘Mack’ McCannick tries to piece together Weeks’ life and story by following him around and trying to get a lead on him.
After recently premiering at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival); McCanick has been bought by Well Go USA, acquiring all U.S. distribution rights, with plans already in place to release the film in cinemas, early 2014.
Here’s the trailer to Monteith’s final film, McCanick, in which it was said he was very proud of his work:
