On last Monday's episode of How I Met Your Mother, Jason Segel's character, Marshall, visits Shanghai where he encounters the asian versions of his friends. The accent, make-up, costumes and use of the term "yellowface" created controversy on social networks, with viewers taking twitter to express their discontent with the hashtag "#HowIMetYourRacism". Co-creator Carter Bays took to twitter to release an apology, stating he and fellow showrunner Craig Thomas are "deeply sorry" for the any offence caused: https://twitter.com/CarterBays/status/423569386910150656 https://twitter.com/CarterBays/status/423569526093922304 https://twitter.com/CarterBays/status/423569706725806080 How I Met Your Mother is in the middle of it's ninth and final season, with the final episode due to air on March 31 on CBS. http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com
