Criminal Minds Brings Back Old Faces For Historic 200th Episode

The landmark episodes of TV shows are usually seen as a big deal, and are treated accordingly. Criminal Mind’s 200th episode is no exception. The producers have been planning this episode for over four months and it is sure to live up to expectations. The episode will center around A.J. Cook’s character, Jennifer Jereau (fondly known as JJ by the show’s fans) as she is kidnapped and tortured for information, while her team works hard to find and rescue her.

Not only is the premise of the episode exciting, but the producers took the chance to bring back some familiar faces. Fan favorite Paget Brewster will be bringing her character Emily Prentiss back to our screens after her departure in 2012, when Hotch (Thomas Gibson) calls her and asks her to come back and help in JJ’s search. Also returning is Jayne Atkinson as Section Chief Erin Strauss. While Atkinsons character is diseased, she will be shown through a series of flashbacks.

Cook states that the episode helps tie up a lot of loose ends that were created when her character was abruptly written off the show. She also shared that in an act of true commitment she was actually waterboarded for the filming of the episode.

“They waterboarded me. For real. No joke. I don’t know any other actor that would have allowed them to do that. I’m so dumb.”
