Earlier this year, American Idol Season 9 runner-up Crystal Bowersox took to PledgeMusic to ask fans to fund her upcoming EP, Promises.
Offering such items as autographed versions of the EP, hand-written lyric sheets, and even one incredibly exclusive pair of actual BowerSOCKS(!), and with only 2% of the goal yet to be made over the next 5 days, we’d say that the campaign has been a rousing success.
It looks like Crystal would say so, too, as the Ohioan singer-songwriter recently took to her funding page to release a preview of a new song entitled “How Long”. From the preview, it wouldn’t be hard to assess that it’s exactly the blues-drenched soul fans have come to love from her post-show craft.
The snark against reality show stigma is strong here, too, in the lyrics: “I’m from Ohio, not American Idol.” Pretty powerful stuff.
Furthermore? She’s released the official cover artwork for the EP, which is looking to be fittingly artistic, playful, and unique. You can check it out above!
