It's finally happening! Jeff Davis heard our pleas, saw our tears, and answered our prayers! Our favorite Argent is returning to Teen Wolf... with a twist.
"Teen Wolf" Alum Crystal Reed will guest star in an episode later this season, set to air on February 24th, but won't be reprising her role as Allison (sorry, folks!). Instead, Reed will fill the role of Marie-Jeanne Valet, an Argent bad-ass who was apparently the first person to defeat La Bête, this season's resident big baddie. Clearly this family has some very strong genes because the resemblance is uncanny (cue the courtesy laughs).
This isn't the first time that the Argent family history has played a large role in Teen Wolf's overall plot. Much of season two was dedicated to the family's legacy as werewolf hunters (Argent means silver, remember?) and the multitude of problems that caused for Scott and Co.. The family, however, was largely absent from season 4, so this new look into their backstory will likely be welcomed by the show's fans.
Valet's story line will take place in 18th-century France, a fact which, according to Reed, was a huge selling point for the actress. The character will be based on the stories surrounding the Maid of Gévaudan, a legendary heroine sometimes referred to as the second Joan of Arc. "I knew the legend," said Reed in an interview with BuzzFeed News, " so before really knowing anything further, I said yes!"
And we said YASSSS!
Before making the decision to leave the show, Reed played the role of dead shot archer, reformed legacy hunter, and love interest to Scott McCall, Allison, whose loss left fans reeling when she died saving the lives of her friends.
Although Allison isn't actually coming back, this little gift will hopefully numb some of the pain caused by the character's departure in the finale of season 3 (still crying over that, btdubs).
We still miss you, Allison, but we can't wait to meet you Marie!
