Cuba Gooding Jr. Cries For Fallen Dallas Cops

Cuba Gooding Jr took a photo with Officer Patrick Zamarripa before the tragedy in Dallas. Gooding admits that he cried when he learned his fan’s fate.

As we previously reported, several police officers in Dallas were killed during a peaceful protest. The protest was in response to the recent officer-related deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. One of the officers who was killed during the Dallas protest had posed for a picture with Cuba Gooding Jr.

Officer Patrick Zamarripa later tweeted the photo, thanking Gooding for being such a good sport and “for taking the pic with my partner and I.”

Unfortunately, they had no way of knowing that Zamarripa would be one of the five officers killed in Micah Xavier Johnson’s sniper attack.

TMZ caught up with Gooding in Studio City, California and asked him about the photo, which was one of the last taken of Zamarripa.

“I cried today when I heard that,” Gooding confessed. “I cried. That’s all I’ll say.”

Officers Michael Krol, Lorne Ahrens, Michael J. Smith, and DART officer Brent Thompson were also among the fallen. Seven other officers and two civilians were wounded but are expected to make a full recovery.

Johnson confessed to being angry about the recent African-American deaths at the hands of white police officers, and was eventually killed using a bomb strapped to a robot.

Other celebrities have also spoken up about the tragic deaths. Dr. Phil posted a reaction video to his website, saying, “I love Dallas, Texas and the people in it. I raised my family thereand have deep roots in that community.”

While investigators originally thought Johnson might be part of a larger group, they concluded he was a lone agent and had acted alone in the Dallas attack.

‘The actions of this sniper or snipers are not the actions of “change agents.” Phil continued. “These are gutless, cowardly actions that cannot and should not be celebrated or endorsed by any member of the human race regardless of the color of their skin or the anger in their hearts.”

Zampirra’s wife, Kristy Villasenor, is heartbroken at her family’s loss.

“This is something I never thought could ever happen to us. We were not done spending our lives together.

“Because of this disgusting display of hate, my daughter will not have her daddy to walk her down the aisle and my son will not have his ‘best buddy’ to play football and baseball with.

“I finally found the love of my life and now have to endure a lifetime without my lobster.”

Alex Witt, a friend of the family, started a GoFundMe page to help support Villasenor and her children in the wake of this tragedy.
