DC Comic fans I have news for you! CW's pilot, Flash, has cast two more stars. The Vampire Diaries‘ Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker (Shark) have been hired to star along Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin. The show is described as an origin story. There will be a focus on Barry Allen aka The Flash (Gustin). The character is a 'Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies'. Cosnett's Detective Eddie Thawne, is a recent transfer to the PD and he has a dark past. Caitlin Snow, played by Panabaker, is a grieving bioengineering expert. This project was supposed to be a backdoor pilot episode of Arrow'. However, the powers-that-be decided to change the course and thus they film a pilot with David Nutter directing. To fill out the behind-the-scenes process, a troupe of writers were hired including Greg Berlanti, , Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg (all of which have worked on the CW’s hit show, Arrow). As for the actors who have signed on to star in the project, each one has an extensive resume. Grant Gustin, star of this spin-off, has been in Arrow, 902010, and most notably Glee where he played Sebastian Smythe. While Rick Cosnet is known for his role on Vampire Diaries, he’s also been featured in The New Inventors and Forensic Investigators. Horror princess Danielle Panabaker has been in everything from Friday the 13th to The Crazies to Piranha 3DD as well as Necessary Roughness and Malcom in the Middle. Probably one of the most famous stars in Flash is Jesse L. Martin who originated the role of Tom Collins in the hit Broadway show RENT. He’s also starred in Law & Order and Smash (among countless other projects). So are you excited about the show? Will you watch? Could this be another CW hit? Please share your thoughts below!
