is a well-known comedy that was released back in 2001, starring David Spade. This past spring, the actor and writer revealed he had written a sequel
to his 13-year-old masterpiece, while he was also working on getting it on online streaming network, Crackle.
The actor explained it was only normal, since Sony Pictures produced the first movie and Sony owns Crackle. For the script of the second installment in the Joe Dirt
stories, Spade joined forces with Fred Wolf, who will also team up with Dennie Gordon in directing duties. An official press release regarding the sequel reads:
David Spade had a fresh and unique vision for Joe Dirt 2 that he could have brought anywhere and we couldn’t be happier that he brought it to Crackle for a first-of-its-kind, worldwide release. The original film has been a longtime viewer favorite, ranking among the most viewed in our library, and we decided to produce and distribute the sequel as a feature for fans everywhere.
The Joe Dirt
sequel is scheduled to reveal everything that was left unsaid in the final moments of the original. Word says the beloved character finds out about a sibling of his and goes on an adventure to find his brother/sister.
