I’m happy, I’m feeling glad...
Yes, it has been announced that the long wait for Gorillaz next album is nearly over. Damon Albarn has confirmed that the band will be returning to studios this September.
It shouldn’t be too much of a shock, really, particularly in light of the Blur reunion. The music bug is one that just won’t let go.
Albarn spoke with Australia’s ABC 7.30 about the plans:
“I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record. I’ve just been really, really busy so I haven’t had a chance.”
“I’d love to get back into [sic] that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”
In fact, Gorillaz creator Jamie Hewlett hinted the news back in January after releasing a post on Instagram with drawings of Noodle and Murdoc, two of the fictional denizens of the band, with the caption “Yes Gorillaz Returns”.
Gorillaz back catalogue just screams of nostalgic wonder for any fan; from “Clint Eastwood” to “Feel Good Inc.”, the band has a roundhouse kick of jams to get behind, and the videos aren’t too shabby either.https://youtu.be/H8Qp38qT-xI
Let’s just say, we’re very excited about what might come! What musical ear worms will we be hearing next.
