First it was Tom Hank’s son Chet Haze. Now Daniel Day-Lewis can say he is the father of a rapper. Gabriel Kane Day-Lewis, who goes by Gabe Day, just released his new music video for “Green Auras” which is a part of his new project BiPSK Mixtape1. While it’s too soon to tell if he’ll have a successful rap career, one thing’s for sure: the boy has some daddy issues. Day is the son of the Oscar winner and his ex-girlfriend and actress Isabelle Adjani. Some of the lyrics insinuate he’s not too happy with his father’s fame. “Call me Gabe Day and not Gabe Day-Lewis, cause if you’re trying to call me out, I’m going to Gabe Day-Lose It! I know what my name is and I know what fame is, Judging someone for their dad is just as bad as being racist.” Day, currently a student at Sarah Lawrence College, opened up about his struggles with bipolar disorder. “From Europe to the east coast, It wasn’t easy to adapt. I kept myself pushing through by writing music and some rap. I found out that I’m bipolar, Now I wear it like a badge. Even when I’m sad, It’s the most satisfying trait I could have.” Day also seems to do his fair share of marijuana, which he appears to be smoking in the video. "Only time I get distracted is when watching my spliff burn up. Is that blunt still burning? All I know is these tables are turning.” You can watch the video below, and if you like what you hear, the full BiSPK Mixtape1 project is available for download on Day’s soundcloud page. [youtube=]
