Rejoice Marvel fans!

The Netflix series Daredevil, based on the Marvel comic book character, has added yet another major character from the universe to its upcoming second season. After announcing The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal would portray the ambiguous character the Punisher, it has been confirmed that Elektra will join the Daredevil series.

Actress Elodie Yung has been tapped to portray the well known female assassin for the sophomore season. Yung is no rookie to physical roles, after starring in films like Gods of Egypt and G.I. Joe Retaliation. In the comic series, Elektra was trained by Stick (similarly to Daredevil aka Matt Murdock) but also ended up as a member of the villainous group of assassins known as the Hand. With two major characters from the Marvel universe joining season 2, Daredevil is looking to raise the bar after receiving stellar feedback for the series first season. Daredevil season 2 is expected to complete filming later this year.
