Apart from being a triple threat, performing on Glee, and supporting his mates in their various artistic endeavours, Darren Criss is known for his philanthropic works. Be it Toys4Tots, the Trevor Project, or Rock the Vote he gives his all behind causes he believes in. And he proves this once again with the announcement today that he will be joining the Yale Whiffenpoofs in a P.S. Arts benefit concert in Santa Monica on Sunday 14th April.
Broadwayworld.com reports that the event, presented by the Association of Yale Alumni and the Yale Whiffenpoofs Alumni Association, will consist of a cappella and choral renditions of American jazz classics, contemporary pop hits, and more.
This is not the first time Darren has teamed up with the Whiffenpoofs. He joined them for a concert back in 2011 at the Lincoln Center in New York City for a benefit in aid of Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. He also performed “Teenage Dream” with them for another P.S. Arts benefit in March 2011. On working with the a cappella group again, Darren has said: “I’m excited to team up again with the gentlemen of the Yale Whiffenpoofs for another great evening of music. P.S. Arts has done an amazing job of bringing arts education to public schools and I am thrilled that our concert will be helping their cause”.
The evening will take place at 5pm at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.Tickets: $50 - $125 (with VIP Packages available). For ticket inquiries, call (310) 434-3200 or visit www.thebroadstage.com/yale_whiffenpoofs.
