Going back to the set of Glee must have been a bittersweet experience with the passing of beloved Glee family member, Cory Monteith. Glee star, Darren Criss, recently spoke with Cosmopolitan magazine, after he was given the title of “Cosmo Guy”.
He spoke to them about what the mood is like behind the scenes while filming this season of Glee after the passing of Monteith.
"As I said on Conan, we’re picking up the pieces. Cory loved life and wanted his friends to be happy, so it’s only right that we try and start to smile again. That’s something that he would have wanted. I am just so happy that he got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him."
As many people know they started filming the tribute to Monteith which Jane Lynch (who plays Sue Sylvester) has called the “Most Beautiful Thing”. The episode will be a celebration of Finn’s Life and I’m sure it will be one of the most emotional episodes of all time.
Before the tribute episode though we will be seeing another tribute episode, but this one is a two-parter to the Beatles. The premiere looks to be a big one for Kurt and Blaine, who as we know will be sharing a kiss in the episode. Something that Criss made clear to Cosmopolitan is that while he plays a gay character on screen he doesn’t feel like he needs to prove his heterosexual nature off-screen.
”I know who I am. I feel bad for guys who have to flex their muscles. But hey, if that’s the way to make yourself feel comfortable as a man—as long as it isn’t antagonizing anybody—go for it. I’m okay with your getting a Miata to feel like a dude; just don’t be a dick about it.”
While Criss loves his fans he also reveals that sometimes they can get a little too close for comfort like one fan did in what is described as his craziest fan encounter:
"A guy licked my face—straight up grabbed my head and licked my face.”
So ladies and gents, we know that Darren Criss is totally attractive but please let this be a lesson: acting crazy and randomly licking celebs isn’t cool. Now that we have cleared that up we have one last lesson to be learned and this is one that Criss learned from an ex-girlfriend.
“When I was a junior in college, I’d broken up with a girl, but there were those residual months when I was still calling her all the time and wanting to spend time with her. Basically, she sat me down and said, ‘Listen, you broke my heart. Accept responsibility for your actions, be a man, and leave me alone, because it’s only going to make things worse.’ I’ll always remember that as a pivotal moment in my life. I hope she’s reading this because I love her for it.”
Now if you’d like to see more Darren you can check him out when the season premiere of Glee airs on September 26 at 9pm!
