Darren Criss was able to strike off another thing from his bucket list last week… appearing on a late night chat show. Criss made his debut appearance on Conan on Thursday night and certainly appeared chuffed to be there.
While primarily on to promote his new film, Girl Most Likely, Criss took time out to remember his Glee co-star and friend, Cory Monteith.
“We’re picking up the pieces now. Cory…was a really funny guy, had a great sense of humor and he loved life, and he always took care of his friends and wanted his friends to be happy, so it’s only right that we, you know, try to start and smile again, try and laugh again. It’s something that he would’ve wanted” Criss told Conan O’Brien.
Glee will pay a tribute to Cory in the third episode of the upcoming season with an episode that will deal directly with drug abuse.
The show might also be getting a shortened run and it isn’t clear if this is related to Cory’s death. While Ryan Murphy has previously spoken about an eight-year run, Kevin Reilly, Fox Entertainment President, recently announced that the current plan is to end the series after the sixth season.
Glee’s season 5 starts on September 26th with a two-part Beatles-themed story, followed by the tribute to Cory and his character, Finn Hudson set to air October 10th.
