Apparently dating apps are a security threat for the Queen of the United Kingdom.

Police in London guarding the royal residence are worried about Queen Elizabeth’s 800 strong staff finding dates in apps like Grinds or Tinder. Although, they are not allowed to bring in guests to Buckingham palace itself, staff members are allowed to bring in anyone for an overnight stay in their quarters at St. James’ palace and the Royal Mews, just as long that they sign them in at the front desk.

The problem isn’t actually new, staff have been bringing in dates before the creation of this dating apps. The risk is with this new technology , maids and butler may be bringing in people that they know little about.

“The palace police are particularly unhappy about the number of guests of servants staying overnight, especially when they may have only just met on Tinder.” a source told the Daily Mail

Former head of royal protection Chief Superintendent Dai Davies referred to it as the ‘Achilless Heel’ of royal security. “Often these guests were total strangers. It makes a complete mockery of the security structure” he said.

On the upside though, ordinary people can get a glimpse of the palace with a Tinder match. Maybe join the dating app the next time you are in London?
