Dave Grohl has revealed that they have finished writing a new Foo Fighters album in an interview with XFM.
Grohl told XFM’s Sunta Templeton that, ” We have been in our studio writing and in the past few weeks we’ve written an album and we are going to make this album in a way that no-one’s ever done before and we’re pretty excited about it.
“It’s not ready to happen right now, but I think next year is going to be a really big year for the Foo Fighters without question”, Grohl added.
Although the band haven’t started recording the album, Chris Shiflett told Rolling Stone, “We actually just started making a new Foo Fighters record within the last few weeks. We’ve started rehearsing…It was a very short hiatus. We’re going to start recording the new Foo Fighters record at the beginning of next year.
Grohl also said that the album will “not be a conventional record”, saying “We are going to make this album in a way that no one’s ever done before, and we’re pretty excited about it.
Recently, Grohl created a documentary about Sound City Studios as well as creating a supergroup with musicians who had used the sound desk in the studio, including Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, named the Sound City Players. The Foo Fighters used the sound desk while working on their 2011 album Wasting Light.
