The truth is out there, and David Duchovny has the truth on the new series of The X-Files.
In fact, he loves it.
In a recent interview, Duchovny was quoted as saying the new scripts were fantastic and “made him cry,” and that he is very much in favor of a second series of the reboot already.
The X-Files is set to return this January, with much fan fare by the cast and critics alike.
The show, which has been off the air for more than a decade, is a welcome return for fans of the series.
Much like Rose in Titanic, “They’ll never let go, Jack.”
And Duchovny is counting himself among those lauding it’s return, saying the re-launch of the series was an “emotional experience.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Duchovny said:
“I read it about an hour ago and I started crying from the first page. It was just so strange to see the names on the page.”
He then went on to say they had been planning this for a long time, with over two years of planning, and it was finally coming together. He said he would work that strangely emotional state into his performance.
When asked about the script, Duchovny kept tight-lipped.
“I can tell you absolutely nothing—and it’s fantastic.”
We here at Popwrapped are very excited.
While it will return as a limited series, Duchovny has said he is open to doing another cycle. He said:
“Certainly we didn’t bring it back with the idea of ending it.”
Don’t tease us, David Duchovny.
The actor is particularly busy at the moment, as his series Aquarius, a series about Charles Manson, is set to premiere in the coming weeks, to rave reviews from those who were lucky enough to catch an early screening.
The X-Files will return as a 6-episode miniseries on Fox, January 2016.
