David Mackenzie To Reunite Chris Pine And Ben Foster In Outlaw King

The director of Hell or High Water, David Mackenzie, is set to direct Outlaw King and bring back Chris Pine and Ben Foster in starring roles!

Outlaw King, a story about the Scottish king Robert the Bruce, will have Chris Pine starring as Robert the Bruce, with Ben Foster as his aide and chief adviser, James Douglas. These two will be reuniting for their third film together, and their second with director David Mackenzie. The three worked together last year for the Academy Award nominated film Hell or High Water.

For those who didn’t see the film, Pine and Foster played two brothers (Tanner and Toby Howard) who were robbing banks to try and pay back the bank in order to keep their family farm. It was truly one of the best movies of 2016 and proved that these two were destined to work together. They had also worked together previous to that in The Finest Hours, the Disney historical piece.

The movie will be for Netflix, and really, it is everything we could have hoped for and more.

Well, at least if you’re a fan of Ben Foster and Chris Pine and their previous work together! The two just have a great chemistry and it comes across in all the work they do together. So let’s repeat that again: Ben Foster and Chris Pine will have Scottish accents in a Netflix movie together. And even better, maybe Pine and Foster will have to wear kilts.

According to Tracking-Board.com, the film will feature a love story.

Outlaw King will feature a love story between Robert the Bruce and his Queen, Elizabeth de Burgh, while Scottish warrior William Wallace (yes, the one from Braveheart) also makes an appearance. And yet, to be honest, the film doesn’t really sound all that interesting to me.

While we still don’t have too much information right now, this movie just seems like it is going to be a great idea and we’re excited to see the final product!
