Actors, especially on shows with a large and loyal fan base behind it, are no strangers to public reaction, both positive and negative.  The Walking Dead actor David Morrissey actually takes fan hate as a compliment, reports Digital Spy. Interesting. Morrissey, The Governor on the Zombie series, told Digital Spy that he takes public jeering as proof that he is “doing a good job. The actor told The Press Association that The Walking Dead has presented him to a large, international fan base. “It's one of the biggest shows on TV,” he said. Morrissey kindly added that he loves how vocal his fans are, and that he finds it “heart warming to be amongst them even though they boo me because I'm the villain!” Social media and the international presence of the show also allow Morrisey to engage with his fans via platforms like Twitter. He said that having a Twitter handle allows him to receive messages from South America, The Far East, Europe, and all over the world. “I love being on The Walking Dead, I love playing The Governor and it's given me such a great connection with the public," he said. The actor declined to address wither or not he will return to the show next year following The Governor’s getting shot in the head in The Walking Dead’s midseason finale. However, he did tease that something has happened to the character. “I feel like a shady politician where I can't confirm and I can't deny anything... Certainly, bad things befell him at the end of the last episode,“ he hinted. Looks like all us The Walking Dead fans will just have to wait and see, no matter how anxious that makes us.
