David Tennant is definitely making 2013 a busy year. Following his success in Broadchurch,The Politician’s Husband, and his long-awaited return to the TARDIS in the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who. Not content with all of this, the 42-year-old Scottish actor has returned to his homeland to film a BBC movie. What We Did on Our Holiday which is being directed by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkins, also stars ex Bond girl Rosamund Pike.
The movie is all about a couple who are visiting family in an attempt to fix the issues in their marriage. Very little is known regarding the full details of the plot however the scenes that were filmed recently showed the couple filling a car prior to leaving.
Between takes both stars guarded against the Glasgow summer by wearing heavy down jackets. The actors were casually dressed and both characters were wearing Converse shoes - something Tennant has spent a lot of time wearing as the Time Lord!
The film is expected to be released in 2014, and also stars another Scottish legend Billy Connolly.
David Tennant can be seen in Doctor Who on November 23 and Rosamund Pike will be in the new Simon Pegg movie The World’s End this summer
