Dawson's Creek Creator Kevin Williamson Reveals Where He Thinks Dawson And The Gang Are Today | dawson's creek

Dawson's Creek ended 15 years ago, and we bid farewell to what may be considered as one of the most iconic group of teenagers that ever graced our TV screens. Many of us grew up with this characters, so like old friends that we have not seen in a while, we may wonder from time to time whatever happened to them.

And yes, I'm perfectly aware that they are fictional and a canonical continuity is only possible with a reunion movie or TV special. There is no word on one in the works, but thankfully the creator of the show himself, Kevin Williamson has revealed what he thinks Dawson (James Van Der Beek), Joey (Katie Holmes), Pacey (Joshua Jackson) and even Jack (Kerr Smith) are doing today. (He made the show that can be considered semi-canon, right?)

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Willamson said "I think they're still best friends. I don't think they see enough of each other and they really wish they could. I think that they probably text each other a lot".

He then adds "I think Pacey and Joey are very much still together and have kids. I think they have had some ups and downs that have only enriched their relationship and made them stronger. And they're rich in character and deeply rooting for Dawson in Hollywood, who has taken a roller coaster of a ride both professionally and personally. He struggled to find love, he struggled to find success, he's been knocked down, he's gotten up. And I think that they're rooting for him and ultimately he's in a very good place."

A very good place so he's happy, that's good, but I wish he was more specific on whether Dawson did find someone to love or maybe he is happier on his own. Now for the fourth member of the core four, Jen (Michelle Williams), we know that she passed away in the most heartbreaking scene in the series, but did have a daughter which she left in the care of Jack and his boyfriend Doug (Dylan Neal), what about them?

Williamson says "I don't know if they're still in Capeside but I feel like Doug is someone that we don't recognize because he has grown so much. And they are probably still together with their beautiful daughter. And if they're not together, they're best friends. And they've raised an amazing daughter.I think Jack is a star in life. He's the favorite teacher in school 10 years in a row or the star employee in whatever job he's working at. He's just a star in life and people love him."

There you go, I guess that is the closest we will ever get to a reunion movie. In the same interview Williamson did state that he has no wish to do the show again, but he has no problem with someone else tackling it.

I guess there is still hope, not another reboot though, we've had too much of those.
