Dazzler May Appear In X-Men: Dark Phoenix

More and more X-Men are being added to the franchise roster, including rumors of fan favorite Dazzler appearing in the next film.

In spite of some continuity snags, it seems like the X-Men film universe just keeps growing and growing, and now the latest news to come out of the franchise hints at a new character entering the fray – Dazzler.

While X-Men: Apocalypse had a deleted scene that included mention of the character by way of her album cover, casting notices seem to include the actual presence of the character.

“[BRITTANY]: Female 18 to play younger (15-17) Caucasian. Very attractive, charismatic and confident. Possibly a bit edgy with a fiery personality, Brittany is a born entertainer. Strong singing skills are a plus, but not mandatory. SUPPORTING”

While the real name isn’t given, hints point to Alison Blaire – Dazzler – as well as the fact that this could be the Ultimate Marvel incarnation of the character. This version of Dazzler sings in a heavy metal band and can convert sound into light and energy, which helps make her shows visually stunning. Dazzler considers outing herself as a mutant for some extra publicity, but reconsiders when Emma Frost approaches her to join a team of mutant spokespeople.

Other casting descriptions made public hint at the appearance of the Hellfire Club and fan favorite Rogue.

“UPDATED [MARIE]: Female 6 years old (to play 6 or younger). Caucasian. An old soul trapped in a little girl’s body. Marie is a strong, but conflicted child who does not like to share her feelings. There’s something a bit eerie and haunted about her. MUST be able to show a wide array of emotions with ease. SUPPORTING”

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled to hit theatres November 2nd, 2018. It will be directed by Simon Kinberg and will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Alexander Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
