Deadpool fans, fear not, your dreams have come true.
20th Century Fox has officially announced that the film has been given an R rating, something that both fans and those who have been working on the movie have been hoping for. According to the MPAA, the rating has been given due to “strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity," all of which are not surprising considering the comic book's content.
Since the beginning of its production, cast and crew members have assured fans that the movie will remain true to the comics. Along with the new rating, new posters have been circulating throughout social media and have been seen on billboards promoting the film in unexpected ways.
The first poster features Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Morena Baccarin as Vanessa looking at Wade with a loving gaze. Of course, the poster does not lead on what the film is entirely about but it is fitting to the film's Valentine's Day release. Two other posters were also been posted on the film's twitter page.
The second poster was first posted on Patton Oswalt's twitter page and has been spreading all over. The billboard features a skull and poop emoji with an L at the end to spell out Deadpool. Although, for those who have never head of Deadpool before, there might be some confusion as to what the billboard is trying to spell out.https://twitter.com/pattonoswalt/status/687319128810504192
Deadpool will be released in theaters nationwide on February 12, 2016.
