Demi Lovato Nixes Idea Of Involvement In A Glee Spin Off

She’s only been in two episode that have aired so far, but already Demi Lovato’s Dani has wormed her way into both Santana’s (Naya Rivera) and Glee fans hearts. As we see more and more of life in the Big Apple for some of our favourite graduates, the more we want to see of life beyond the hallways of McKinley High. While rumours of a New York based spin-off have been floating around since season 3 as graduation loomed for Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and co, the creators decided to split the series between Lima and New York from season 4. With the growing New York based cast in the form of Lovato and Adam Lambert’s Elliott, along with the expected move of at least Blaine (Darren Criss), Artie (Kevin McHale) and possibly Sam (Chord Overstreet) following their graduation this year, the rumours and expectation of a solely New York-based series have once again gathered steam. However, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves as not all of our favourites may make the move. Recently Zap2it spoke to Lovato during a break in her The X Factor schedule and asked her about whether she would be interested in starring in a New York spin-off. "No [I wouldn't sign on for that]. It's fun but not that fun -- just kidding," she replied. "It is a good experience, but I think ultimately my main thing is singing. Maybe movies once in a while if the right role comes along, but it is still hard being in front of the camera when you have suffered from eating disorders. I still don't watch my episodes back. It is hard." While she may want to focus on her singing, that wouldn’t necessarily prevent her from making special guest appearances in the series. Until we hear definitively from Ryan Murphy that a New York spin-off won’t occur, we can all continue to dream.
