'Dancing with the Stars' has always yielded some kind of curse when it comes to injuries on their show, but when it happens to a front runner, problems arise.
Derek Hough has been making waves on the show this season since being paired with gymnast Nastia Liukin, but they could now be in some trouble. During a recent rehearsal, Derek suffered, what has been confirmed, a broken toe, sprain to his left ankle, and a bone bruise.
All of this took place during a rehearsal for the DWTS 10th anniversary show, in which Hough took a tumble down some stairs.
Another pro, Sasha Farber, has taken over rehearsing with Nastia for next weeks live show, with Derek seemingly sidelined. No word on how long or if he'll have to bow out of the competition. In that case, Nastia would be paired with another pro. She hasn't been eliminated from the show, so she would be sticking around.
Derek's friend and pro dancer on the show Mark Ballas can be seen in the photo below wheeling Derek around, while another shot shows off his damaged foot.
Time will tell, and we'll find everything out this coming Monday, but there are rumblings he may be out of the season.
Let's hope for a speedy recovery for Derek....although him and Nastia being out makes room for either Riker Lynch/Allison Holker to win or Rumer Willis/Val Chmerkovskiy to take the Mirror Ball trophy.
I'd be fine with either!
