Remember The Devil Wears Prada
? The glitzy film, that showed us what it is like to work inside a major fashion magazine, and what it is like to be an assistant/slave to the most powerful person in the industry?
Well as it turns out, the amazing 2006 film, which saw Anne Hathaway's character Andrea Sachs , contend with her demanding boss, Miranda Priestly played by the living legend Meryl Streep, is about to get
the Broadway treatment.
According to the Associated Press
, Broadway producer, Kevin McCollum may be developing a stage musical version of the film.
In 2013, McCollum made a partnership with 20th Century Fox to turn two of its films into musicals. One of which is The Devil Wears Prada
. One other fox film, the Cinderella tale , Ever After
which starred Drew Barrymore is already slated to start performances later this month.
Hopefully the production will not move at a glacial pace. And if dreams do come true, Anne Hathaway who won an Academy Award for her turn in the acclaimed movie musical, Les Miserables
will get to play Andrea Sachs again. And , the iconic Meryl Streep who starred in Mamma Mia
and Into the Woods
herself would also sign on to star.
