The ABC network should really be kicking themselves for choosing not to pick up such a wonderful series!
Devious Maids is a lot like Desperate Housewives except it’s the maids we follow. Although, the ladies of Westeria Lane didn’t have housekeepers.
Since the premiere of the first season, Devious Maids has managed to become the fastest growing drama series on Lifetime!
Rob Sharenow, who is the Executive Vice-President and General Manager of Lifetime, said “One of the most daring shows on television, Devious Maids has quickly become a hit. We are very proud of the show and are delighted to continue our partnership with Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria, Sabrina Wind, ABC Studios and Televisa USA. I am thrilled that we are bringing Devious Maids back for a second season to lead our scripted state in 2014.”
The series centers around a group of women who work as maids for the rich and spoiled in Beverly Hills. They are bonded together by their jobs, as well as their struggles in life.
The friends comes together when their friend Flora is brutally murdered in the study of her employer’s mansion.
Eva Longoria, who played the saucy and sexy Gabrielle Solice on Desperate Housewives, wasted no time defending Devious Maids after it received some pretty awful critical black lash.
Longoria has kept herself very busy since Desperate Housewives ended. The 38-year-old actress is also producing a new sex therapist comedy series.
