Dianna Agron recently did an exclusive photo shoot and interview with Galore Magazine and while the shoot captures her blonde bombshell essence the interview captures her outlook on a future album, growing up, and if she’s ever wanted to hit someone with a tennis racquet. Millions of people have seen Dianna portray Brandon Flowers of The Killers in their latest video, but the people that have seen the video might not have realized how much of a fan of the band Agron really was. Playing Brandon Flowers in their ten year anniversary video was so damn cool. For a few reasons. When I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my big dreams, Hot Fuss, their first album, was out. I would blast “Smile Like You Mean It” while driving over the canyons. Sing “Mr. Brightside” at the top of my lungs on a night out with friends. I can’t believe it’s been a decade of residing in LA and having the Killers in my life. I’ve seen them once in concert, it was in Hyde Park, and I ended up backstage with a few friends plus another crew, which included Prince Harry, Beatrice and Eugenia. Usually I would not choose to be backstage at a concert, but this one was something different. It was sprinkling, and the audience did not care. Thousands upon thousands of the most hardcore fans danced together in this beautiful manner. It was like two shows were happening at once, the boys onstage and the crowd below. Thankfully, the day of the shoot was just as good as I could have imagined. The boys are funny, sweet and self deprecating, Plus Warren Fu, our director is a true talent. It made me so very happy. “ So besides growing up in LA listening to the Killers, what was it like growing up in the Bay Area for Agron? “Growing up in the Bay….truly some of my fondest moments. Burlingame isn’t the biggest nor is it the smallest town. I think 32,000 people, or at least around that then. Our community was accepting, nurturing, it is one of the best places to be raised. I lived for music, and concerts…sometimes I would have to say I was at a sleepover and really be at a show. There we’d be, in the mosh pit, despite my small frame, getting bruises, crowd surfing, you name it. Then I’d go to ballet class after school and have to cover up my concert wounds. Silly harmless rebellion, things like that. Sneaking out of the house to meet your friends in the park at 2 A.M. But it was a safe neighborhood, and really, we were just in seek of a thrill. The good old fashioned kind. Sometimes it worries me that innocence is lost too early. Kids trying to grow up too fast. I am glad I wasn’t one of them.” So now that she’s grown into a blonde bombshell, what does she have planned for the upcoming year? "2014 will be a year for new projects, new travels, and much happiness. I’ve had some hard things to get through, emotional loss in 2013, and through sadness comes deeper understanding and pursuit of happiness. At least that’s what I think. Boring answer, a bit. But true. Maybe 2014 will be the year I also try something I am terrified of. Like scuba diving. Probably not, but maybe. Never say never." Something she’s terrified of? Does this mean a Dianna Agron solo album will be one of the new projects she’ll be working on in 2014? I guess I have to say no to an album in my future. You never know! It’d be nice to get into stuff that was more me, though I’ve loved everything I’ve had the chance to sing on Glee. I’m lucky really. I grew up watching old musicals, which is what made me want to act. It’s come full circle and I am the happier for it. As for what my album would be called…..Not sure, definitely not Dianna Agron. Something fun. I’m trying to think of something on the spot. It’s not working. Instead random words are coming to mind. Bats, Night, Dark, Blue…..” Well while she won’t be working on a solo album we do know for sure that she’ll have a new indie film coming out called Conspiracy on Jekyll Island. Her character is named Amelia Rhondart, and is described as an angry, feisty tech nerd that happens to ride a motorcycle. So how has Agron prepared for this role that she’s described as “much more aggressive” than her past roles? Getting into character on this new project, “Conspiracy on Jekyll Island” has been fairly seamless. The team is supportive, communicative, and my wardrobe is the best thing I have ever experienced. She’s a badass, she knows it….there is nothing exceptionally feminine about her and she is unapologetic. It’s delicious. It’s day two of me being here, we had a cast dinner last night and also had some vodka shots. A great unifier. Right? It seemed so at the time. We definitely had our initiation and deep bonding. So now, tomorrow, day one of shooting for me is going to be even easier.” While you’ll have to wait until next year to see Agron in Conspiracy on Jekyll Island, you won’t have to wait too long to see her in her bad-ass role of Belle Blake in The Family as it’s due to come out on Blu-Ray and DVD next week, December 17th. If you’ve seen the film or even the trailer you’ve probably seen Agron in the infamous tennis racquet scene, and this brought up the question of has she ever wanted to use a tennis racquet on someone in her real life? “Hmmmm…..there are definitely moments where you’d love to beat the shit out of someone. Sure. People can be cruel, take advantage of young girls, you name it. But, my best tennis racket is the ability to use my words. Just have to be confident and remember to use them. Standing up for yourself, and putting someone in their place with wit is a truly admirable skill.” While she’s not giving tips on how to swing the racquet like she did in the movie, she did give some beauty tips on how you can maintain some stunning blonde locks like she does. “To maintain my blonde locks the purple shampoo is key. And there’s this detangler brush from London, it’s genius. It’s like five dollars and you can find them in Boots and things like that. It’s a genius thing and I panic if ever I think I’ve lost it. I’m a sucker for anything that saves time in regards to grooming.” She’s a favorite blonde bombshell so many girls and women in the world today so to end things she revealed who her favorite blonde bombshell is: “Bombshells…at the moment I am thinking about Anna Karina. Those scenes in “Une Femme Est Une Femme?” She’s a little tiger. So lovely.” You can pick up your issue of Galore Magazine with Agron on the cover here, and you can check out the stunning photos done by Ellen Von Unwerth from the issue/shoot below!
