It has been revealed that the Dinobots will be featured in Transformers 4, according to the film’s producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
When he spoke to TFW2005, di Bonaventura explained, “I cannot disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles.”
For those who aren’t die-hard fans of the series, the Dinobots first appeared in the cartoon series in 1984 and were made by Wheeljack and Ratchet in the episode “S.O.S. Dinobots.” The DInobots began with Grimlock, Slag and Sludge with Snarl and Swoop joining the crew later on. The creature’s lack of intelligence and destructive nature was almost the cause of the destruction of the Autobots.
Lorenzo went on to say that there would be no special Chinese edition of the film, unlike the highly successful Iron Man 3, “I know that Iron Man 3 had a special edition released in China, but Transformers 4 will only have one version globally.”
The filming of the flick will take place in Beijing and Hong Kong, as well as two additional cities, according to the producer.
Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Titus Welliver, TJ Miller and Han Geng are among the cast, while Michael Bay will direct the film, which will mark Bay’s last film in the franchise.
Transformers 4 will open in cinemas on June 27th, 2014.
