Disney Announces New Movie Release Dates | Disney

Are you a fan of Frozen, Indiana Jones, or Star Wars? Well you’re in luck. Disney just announced a TON of new release dates for 2018 and beyond.

Although some films are still to be released on time (Magic Camp, Toy Story 4, and Captain Marvel to name a few), Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has been pushed back from March 9th, 2018 to November 21st of the same year. However, the film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time (starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakas, Mindy Kaling, and Oprah Winfrey) has also been pushed up from April 6th, 2018 to March 9th, 2018.

The new announcements are the most excitin. Star Wars: Episode IX is due to hit theaters May 24th, 2019 (just in time to be a big summer blockbuster) and The Lion King (a live action adaption) is due later in the summer on July 19th. That same year, Disney will also release the highly anticipated Frozen 2 on November 27th.

Even further ahead, there were some titled films announced for 2020. The most exciting though is Indiana Jones! The only confirmed cast member is the returner, Harrison Ford, but they have plenty of time ahead to string us along with the details of the rest of the cast.

If you’re interested in the untitled films, you can look forward to a few mysterious movies: one untitled live action film is due for release each year through 2121 and there are also two animated films scheduled for release the same year. If you’re a Marvel fan, there are several untitled films to look forward to in 2019 and 2020 (we can probably assume they are a Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel and another installment of Guardians of the Galaxy but the official list does not say). The future is looking awfully bright for Disney fans!
