Doctor Who “Day of the Doctor” Deleted Scene Released

A deleted scene from Saturday’s ‘Day of the Doctor’ 50th anniversary special has been released.

It features the three doctors, played by Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt, with their feet chained up as they walk together, presumably towards the Tower of London, where they were held captive.

After a few moments of silence, the bickering begins, with the 10th Doctor suggesting that his trademark Converse “bring the cool” and that the 11th Doctor “wouldn’t understand the cool”. Smith’s incarnation retorts that Tennant’s Doctor “couldn’t handle the cool”, predictably straightening his “cool” bowtie as he responds. Bemused by his future regenerations, Hurt’s War Doctor comments that “they haven’t drawn breath since Richmond”.

Whilst the scene highlights the playful rivalry between the two most recent Doctors, and how strange and different they seem to the Warrior Doctor, it didn’t make the final cut into the 50th anniversary special.

However, even after 75 minutes of breath-taking and show-changing action, fans worldwide will surely be glad of an extra 19 seconds of the very thing that made the ‘Day of the Doctor’ so special, the three Doctors together.
