It has been revealed that that a set of Doctor Who comics will be on its way after BBC Worldwide signed a new deal with Titan Comics to create the series. Titan revealed yesterday that they will publish comics focusing on the 10th and 11th Doctors, who were portrayed by David Tennant and Matt Smith respectively in the TV series, and the newest incarnation played by Peter Capaldi. Although writers and artists have not been announced a date, it is expected that the first issues will be released later this year. According to Digital Spy, “IDW Publishing most recently held the licence for Doctor Who comics.” They also added, ”Its most recent comics included the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary one-shot and Doctor Who special 2013 #1, written by Paul Cornell, which was its final release from the property.” The new series of Doctor Who is currently in production, with Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman is set to reprise her role as his companion Clara Oswald.  Showrunner Steven Moffat gave readers of Doctor Who Magazine a hint of what to expect in the new series, saying,” There would be little point in making as radical a change as we’ve made unless you’re going to go quite different with the Doctor. Our vague idea is...the last two Doctors have been brilliant and have been your ‘good boyfriend’ Doctors. But the Doctor isn’t always like that. There is the sort of Tom Baker, Christopher Eccelston end of the spectrum, where he is mad and dangerous and difficult.”
