Doctor Who is going to kick off its World Tour in the show’s home town of Cardiff, Wales.
Series eight will hold a World premiere on August 7th in St David’s Hall, where eager fans will be able to see the episode “Deep Breath” before anyone else!
It won’t air until August 23rd on BBC One, so watch out for spoilers until then.
BBC Wales director Rhodri Talfan Davies said that:
Doctor Who is getting even bigger and even better – and it’s a real thrill that the show’s fans here in Wales will be the very first to see the new Doctor at this very special premiere screening. Doctor Who has been made in Wales for almost ten years – and we’re so proud of its worldwide success.
Brand new Timelord, Peter Capaldi, companion Jenna Coleman and head writer Steven Moffat will all attend the screening and following Q&A panel.
Doctor Who: The World Tour will visit 7 cities in 12 days, a first in the TV show’s 50 year history, where the stars will attend various events and interviews, all to get everyone ready for what is promising to be an explosive new season.
Tickets for the premiere in Cardiff sold out in less than a day and details are yet to be released for the next events.
