One of the sweetest animated flicks in recent memory, the 2010 animated film Despicable Me, saw the villainous Gru – voiced by Steve Carell – learning to embrace his good side after adopting three orphaned girls with hearts of (mostly) gold.
With the sequel arriving in theatres on July 3rd, Entertainment Weekly has a brand-new clip with lots of Gru goodies and minion-y madness.
The clip sees Gru psyching himself up to call new character, Lucy (voiced by Kristin Wiig, who voiced evil adoption agent Miss Hattie in the first film), but the minions aren’t exactly helpful when it comes to Gru’s girl problems.
Oh, and go ahead and give Lucy’s number a call: (626) 584-5723 will put you right through to her voice mail at the Anti-Villain League!
Despicable Me 2 stars Steve Carell; Benjamin Bratt as new bad guy Eduardo; Steven Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom (the head of the Anti-Villain League); Russell Brand as returning favourite Dr. Nefario; Miranda Cosgrove as the adorable Margo; and a whole whack of wonderful minions.
